Members of Children’s Parliament at Professor Colony takes up responsibility to clean the surroundings of the slum they live in.
Janvikas runs Bridge Course centers for educating the Drop-out and working children in the slums of Indore city. The concept of Children’s Parliament is introduced to the children in all these slums and children are formed into groups. The Children’s Parliament caters for children below age of 18 years, of neighborhood of about 25 -30 families. Children’s Parliament gives a chance to speak for the children, by the children and of the children. It serves as a platform for the children to develop leadership skills, confidence, team spirit, analytic skills and maturity. They will choose their ministers by following democratic election method. According to the needs of the area the different ministers are selected, starting with Prime Minister, Vice Prime Minister, Finance Minister, Home Minister, Education Minister, Health Minister, Law Minister, etc.
Here children takes up the responsibility to bring changes in the society. Our children’s parliament ministers have so much belief to change this nation. “We can change this nation. We have to change this nation. If not we, who will change this nation?”.
