“Your life, is our life, your mission is our mission”
On August 18, 2017, a formative meeting was organized for lay missionaries of the Sacred Heart of Jesus Parish in Río Azul in the state of Paraná in Brazil. The theme of the gathering was: the spirituality of the Divine Word Missionaries and the four characteristics dimensions of the Congregation (Mission, Justice and Peace and Integrity of Creation, Bible and Communications).
The lay partners of the Sacred Heart of Jesus organize various mission activities in the community. Such activities include: mission day organized three times during the year in different parishes of the diocese, two annual retreats based on missionary spirituality and the monthly meeting on every first Wednesday of the month. Besides, the group organizes other activities such as: the visit of the elderly people at the Santa Rita Home, known as “Casa de los ancianos”; the visit to the families, especially to the sick people and neediest, etc. Each year, the group goes around visiting all the Christian communities with the image of the Our Lady of Aparecida.
