The 33 National assembly of the Missionaries Auxiliaries of the Divine Word (Misioneros Auxiliares del Verbo Divino – MAVD) was held on September 15 to 17, 2017 in the Villa Maria Inmaculada located in the Magical Town of TEPOZTLÁN in the state of Morelos.
A total of 250 people participated in the said encounter. During these 3 days, participants celebrated the event and shared with one another the Spirituality of the Society of the Divine Word and the missionary activities carried out by the various groups that form part of this group of the Lay Partners of the Divine Word. Participants of the Assembly are composed of active lay members, former invited members, former national coordinators, Divine Word Missionaries, Seminarians from different stages of formation, and the Missionary Sisters of the Holy Spirit. This union of diverse participants achieves a true image of the Arnoldus Family.
Fr. John Beñas, the Provincial Superior of the Society of the Divine Word in Mexico, had a special message for the MAVD, thanking them for their unconditional support and collaboration in the missionary field of the Church and the Society of the Divine Word in Mexico. The Provincial also announced to the assembly of the participation of the representatives of MAVD, namely Gianini Sahagún B. and Angel Cobian Galvan to the first INTERNATIONAL WORKSHOP OF SVD LAY PARTNERS in the AdGentes Center in Nemi, Rome in October 2017.

The Lay Missionaries thanked the Missionaries of the Divine Word for their closeness and for accepting them as partners in the Mission. In a special way Father Gustavo thanked them in return for accepting him to accompany them as spiritual director. Currently the MAVD, is a group of around 240 lay faithful men, women, young and old, children, and families, working together tirelessly and committed to the Mission particularly that of the SVD. They are Inspired by our founder St. Arnold Janssen to keep in mind that HIS IS OUR LIFE, MISSION, OUR MISSION.
