Ambassa: October 5, 2016, Oishobani Registered Society Ambassa, in collaboration with Ambassa Parish organized an outreach programme at Udaising village, under Ganganagar Block. From Agartala Missionary of Charity Sisters collected clothes from rich people from Agartala the capital city of Tripura and rice to distribute to these selected families.
Fr. Cyprian SVD, Fr. Harry CSC, Fr. Ivan the Parish Priest of Ambassa Parish, 3 M.C Sisters and other lay leaders had a adventurous journey deep into the woods a village called Udaising para. It is 8 kilometers far away from the Ambassa – Gandachera Sub-Division road. All most all villages are towards this area are belonging to Reang tribe.
This programme was carried out to honor St. Mother Theresa and to spread her message of ‘reaching out to poorest of the poor’.
Prior to this programme leaders spotted 75 very poor families from six villages as beneficiaries of this outreach program. People had gathered in a dilapidated community hall built by Para military forces in Udaising Para.
The same hall is used as school for the children up to class V from more than 120 families, of two villages. There is no another school in the vicinity. The next school is four hours walk from the village. After the formal introduction and information of the purpose of gathering, 75 families were distributed bundle of clothes, rice, steel plates and steel glasses by M.C. Sisters. Many more such programs are required but our hands are tied because of the lack of resources. One may wonder and ask what happens to those people who get seriously ill in these villages? How do they take the patients to the hospitals?
