Sarva Seva Sangh, Andheri, Mumbai, organized two life skill educational camps for children living at high risk situations on 3rd November as well as on 5th November 2014 in Gyan Ashram Campus.
The first camp on 3rd November, held at IIC hall, was for waste picking children, who are now placed in hostel and are pursuing formal education. There were seventeen children who participated in the camp. Children spent the day learning many things through games; short video clips and action songs. They also enjoyed learning to make some crafts.
The second camp on 5th November, held at St. Arnold’s School, was for children living with and affected by HIV/AIDS. Ms. Karishma Bajaj, a psycho therapist, taught them some simple techniques of time management and techniques to face fear and anxiety. In the afternoon a group of physicians from Marathon Elite Group gave some inputs on general health and hygiene and dental care. There were thirty-four children who participated in this camp.
The Marathon Elite Group, Andheri East, sponsored lunch and gifts for both the camps and a few of their members spent some time interacting with the children and encouraging them
