Fifty adolescent girls participate in the summer camp at Janvikas


Adolescent girls from different slums of Indore city gathered at Janvikas to participate in the summer camp. The day was filled with lot of activities coupled with fun. 50 girls from different slums participated in various competitions like Drawing and Painting, Rangoli and Mehandi designing.

Drawing and painting was conducted based on the theme "Swach Bharat - Clean India." Rangoli was made with various colours. Mehandi designing was the most attractive item of the day. Girls decorated each other’s hands with variety of designs with mehandi. Attractive prizes were also given away to the winners.

Janvikas has formed groups of adolescent girls in different slums of Indore city in order to empower them to face the challenges of life and assist them in their crucial stage of life. Input sessions are organized time to time at slum level on various topics pertaining to adolescent growth and development.

Different skill based trainings in Tailoring, Computer, Spoken English, Driving and Beautician's Course are organized for women, young girls and children in Janvikas as part of summer camp this year.
