“For a poor and servant Church of the poor”
This year, the Church will be celebrating the 50th anniversary of the conclusion of Vatican II which was a milestone in the recent history of the Catholic Church. Inspired by what was going on and what was said during in the Council, already towards its end 40 bishops from all over the world signed a pact in the Catacombs of Domitilla, and known as the Pact of the Catacombs. With this pact, the bishops promised to journey with the poor to be a poor Church that serves the poor by living a simple life style and withdrawing symbols of power.
