Students and teachers at St. Francis of Assisi English Medium School in the village of Kanchanpur participated in a one-day program on media awareness and communication on Nov. 10. The seminar took place in the school hall.
Father Ivan D’Silva SVD, secretary for the commission of social communications for the Diocese of Argatala, led the program, using PowerPoint and video clips. Regarding social media, he touched upon the topics of violence, advertisements and online classes. He also taught a session on cell phones, explaining the advantages and disadvantages of cell phones and the internet. He warned the participants not to become too reliant on either.
